Show Dr. Eyring Honored The dean of the University's Graduate School, Dr. Henry Eyring, Ey-ring, Thursday, Nov. 12, was made an honorary member of the Chemist's Club at a dinner meeting of the organization in New York. DR. EYRING, after the prese-tation prese-tation of the honorary membership, member-ship, gave a talk on the role of "Scientific Models in Research. A physical chemist who is at home in fields as diverse as molecular mo-lecular biology, radioactivity, the chemistry of flames and the structure of liquids, Dr. Eynng was the 1963 winner of the ACS $2,000 Peter Debye Award in Physical Chemistry. AT THAT TIME he was cited as "a prolific elucidator of the basic principles of chemistry, a successful professor in chemical knowledge and understanding and a leader in the association of chemists devoted to the task of making the world a better place for all of us." |
