Show Behind Every Successful Man- A Successful Woman By JENEAL GRANIERI Chronicle Society Writer The events of November 5th and 6th will be memorable ones for Mrs. James C. Fletcher. At this time her husband, Dr. Fletcher, is being inaugurated inaugu-rated as the new President of the University of Utah. Mrs. Fletcher will be accompanying her husband in the many hon-ores hon-ores and festivities of the occasion. through many parts of the -vorld. She, with her husband, tas been around the world several sev-eral times, and loves it more eacn time she goes. Mrs. Fletcher said she espe-:ially espe-:ially loved Germany, Denmarx and Norway, 'and hopes to return re-turn there soon. The only trip Mrs. Fletcher has planned for the immediate future is one to Berkeley to see the Utah-California game. Of immediate importance is the Inauguration of her husband. For this even, there will be rep resentatives coming to the Utah campus from many of the major colleges and U n i v e rs 1 1 1 e s throughout the country. MRS. FLETCHER also sent out many invitations to personal friends and relatives, and both she and Dr. Fletcher are pleased and gratified to learn that i great number of these people will be in attendance. Mrs. Fletcher said that she is looking forward to the coming years with anticipation because she loves the college atmosphere Mrs. Fletcher, the former Fay Lee, is no stanger to Utah. She grew up in Brigham City before leaving for California where she has spent the past nineteen years. SHE HAS JUST recently fin ished moving her family into a new house in Saint Mary's on the eastern side of the city, a task which has certainly been anything but easy. The Fletchers have four children: chil-dren: Virginia Lee (Ginger) 16: Mary Susan, 14, who are attending attend-ing Highland High School, Steve 11, and Barbara Jo (Missy) 6, who are attending Stewart School. LIKE MANY PEOPLE, she has been bitten by the travel bug and loves to travel and re-travel 'f i , "-, (i tr u. - 1 ' ' and loves to be around college youth. MRS. FLETCHER, the gracious gra-cious and personable woman that she is, will be a refrshing and pleasant person to have representing repre-senting the University and its student population as the iw dent's wife. ftK: She will add a new kind dignity to her position wto all will readily see as they k come acquainted with the U versity's new "First Lady" |
