Show More TV. Classes Needed in Future T.V. classes are a must in the future, according to Dr. Paul B. Porter, head of the Psychology Department. De-partment. Dr. Porter said that unless un-less there is some new technological technologi-cal improvement in teaching, T- V. classes are necessary and "un-i "un-i oidable" because of the need to i. crease the number of students per teacher. Many complaints about low teacher salaries stem from low teacher productivity, Dr. Porter Por-ter said. Dr. Porter stated that there is "no limit" to the number of students stu-dents a T. V. class can cover with every student having a front row seat. Another advantage of T. V. classes is that visual aids, such as short movies, animated draw ines and enlargements o BMon are readily available. Dr. Porter also observed that students have mixed I feelings abou T. V. classes- He said that an expe rimental T. V. class was conducted last spring in a psychology class. Students were taught once a wee by this method. The results indicated that the quality of student ability was unaffected un-affected by the method of teaching employed. |
