Show i i C 1 ' y , I 'J I 1 : , li t DAVID KING . . . will speak tonight King to Talk On Liberalism David King will speak to the members of the Campus Americans for Democratic Action and all those interested in the Beehive room tonight to-night at 8 p.m. His topic, "Liberalism "Libera-lism That Great American Dream," will deal with the classical classi-cal factors that made America strong. America to Mr. King is a market place for freedom; a market place that has both good and bad ideas. What has made America what she is, has been the exchange of these ideas, and in the exchange only the valuable ideas being kept. This, Mr. King says, is a perpetual guarantee guar-antee and the classical conception of a strong republic. In practice, Mr. King attests that it is those who shout the loudest about freedom that . commit the gravest errors against it. An example ex-ample of this to him is the John Birch Society who suggest that aryone who disagrees with them are Communists. Mr. King will also expound on the true equality of man; drawing a parallelism between a foot-racer who has weight on one leg and the Negroes. At the last meeting of the Campus Cam-pus Americans for Democratic Action Ac-tion these people were elected as officers: Roger Marchant, president; Frank Mitko, first vice president; Bruce Barlow, second vice president; presi-dent; Madelaine Nishida, secretary; and Sandra Telford, treasurer. |
