Show SOCIAL SECURITY AGENT LISTS PERSONS WHO MUST FILE REPORT Any individual under 72 years of age who received social so-cial security benefits during 1955 must file an annual report of his earnings with the Social Security Administration by the 15th of March if he earned over $1200 during the year. In making this announcement announce-ment Bill Feldhauser of the Richfield social security office pointed out that failure to make the report on time could mean the loss of one month's benefit checks as a penalty. "An income tax return filed with the Internal Revenue Service Ser-vice will not serve as an annual report to the Social Security Administration," Mr. Feldhauser Feldhaus-er said. "This is a special report re-port required of beneficiaries under 72 years old who earned over $1200 during the year, and it must be made to the Social Security Administration within two months and 15 days after the end of the individual's taxable tax-able year. For most people, this makes March 15th the deadline. dead-line. Individuals using a fiscal year for tax purposes other than the regular calendar year, will make their annual reports r.t another an-other time." The purpose of the annual report re-port is to enable the Social Security Se-curity Administration to determine deter-mine how many benefit checks the beneficiary was entitled to receive during the past year. The necessary forms for making the report will, in most cases, be mailed to the beneficiary. Those who don't receive them by mail can get them by writing writ-ing to the district office located at 159 W. Fifth North, Provo, or by contacting a representative representa-tive of the social security office who will be at the Welfare Office Of-fice in Beaver at 1 p. m., March 8th. |
