Show KENT MYERS STARS IN JAPANESE FOOTBALL Kent Myers, one of Utah's finest athletes and a former football star at Milford High School, has completed an outstanding out-standing football season with the Air Force Itazuke Green Waves. Kent joined the Green Waves at Itazuke Air Base, Japan, at the end of the 1954 season and played end in three games before be-fore the season was completed. At the begining of the 1955 season sea-son he started again at the end position but at the request of the coaching staff switched to the guard spot. He was first-string first-string guard by mid-season. Myers was honored as one of the outstanding linemen of the year at a postseason dinner at Itazuke. The Green Waves won 10 and lost 1 in the Japan Air Force Conference, and finished fin-ished in second place. Lt. Myers' wife, Cherie, and daughter Anne, are residing in Japan during his tour of duty there. He hopes to enter the teaching profession when he returns re-turns to Utah in 1956. |
