We challenge DEL KIRK, president of the Milford Lions, to push harder at pushing every Lions Club project that will, in any way, help Milford to pro-press; pro-press; to continue the programs tluy have started and keep starting new ones. We challenge TED CHR1ST-ENSON, CHR1ST-ENSON, president of the Jay-cees, Jay-cees, to more vigorously push the community projects the Jaycees have under way and in the planning stage, We challenge GRACE JES FERSON, president of the Lady Lions, to take on more community com-munity betterment activities, an 'jfcielp her group of ladies ' wor"them out successfully. We challenge VERL HOR TON, president of the Epsilon i Sigma Alpha sorority (the group that has surprised many of the citizens with their enthusiastic enthu-siastic activities) to maintain their enthusiasm and dream up more worthwhile projects to help improve our community. We challenge MAX ME-CHAM ME-CHAM to put over a more successful suc-cessful March of Dimes in Beaver County, and ditto BABE RUTH in the city, for the more successful each March of Dimes campaign is, the nearer we are to eliminating that child-crippling disease. We challenge COACH LEE PETTEY to put some extra i drive into the basketball squad, and we challenge EACH MEMBER MEM-BER OF THE TIGERS to train himself so that he'll be prepared pre-pared to play, if necessary, every minute of every game at V top speed, and we challenge f them to WANT to win each game enough to play hard enough to merit the support o'f i their loyal Milford fans and represent our city at the state tournament. And to each of these, and to alf other groups and organizations organiza-tions who accept responsibility for any civic improvement, we offer the full support of The Milford News. If we all plan together, and all work together, with the only contention being that of which group or individual can work the hardest and do the most to improve our community, commun-ity, we can make this the most momentous year in Milford's history. Mr. and Mrs. Val Thompson of Tooele joined Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson 'for a motor trip to Norwalk, Calif., where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delos Hollis. Identify at News Office. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Don Bowler and children of Enterprise visited vis-ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theman Walker over the New Year week end. "New Year's dinner guests at the O. C. Koch home were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd B. Hansen and two sons of Richfield, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cook and daughter of South Milford. Mrs. Erma Banks of Caliente, Nev., was a Christmas holiday visitor at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Anderson and daughter Linda were in Salt Lake from Friday until Tuesday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Max Roberts and family of Magill, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Penfield and family of Price, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Lindsey of Provo enjoyed family New Year's dinner din-ner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. V. Waddoups. Mayor and Mrs. Ray Kizer spent a few days in Nevada, over the New Year holidays. In Elko they enjoyed floor shows at the Commercial and Stockmen's Stock-men's Hotels, and met many "old rail" friends of Mr. Kizer. Sunday they drove to Wendover to call on Ray's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Les Kizer. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lamb and three children returned to Milford Monday after a week's visit in Riverside, Calif., with Mr Lairfb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lamb. r Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Seltzer and baby had an enjoyable trip to Phoenix, Ariz., to be with Mrs. Seltzer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Carroll, for the Christmas holidays. After Christmas the Seltzer's left for LaCrescenta, Calif., to visit a few days with Mr. Seltzer's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Seltzer, Selt-zer, before returning to Milford. New Year dinner guests at the Theman Walker home included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. James Mayer and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Elwin H. Gale and sons of Cedar City, and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Marquardson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller and family of South Milford were in Twin Falls, Idaho, and vicinity vicin-ity for 10 days visiting relatives and friends, returning to Milford Mil-ford last Monday. The Harold Edwards family l were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Nichols on New Year's Day. FOUND Brown puppy, on Main Street. Owner call John I Easton. On New Year's Eve the fol- j lowing couples enjoyed a get-together get-together at the Hubert Hickman home in Springville: Mr. and Mrs. John Grimshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis of Milford; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Christiansen of Biuntiful; Mr. and Mrs. Rus-sel Rus-sel Grimshaw of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kinross of Provo. It was a very special trip for Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones when they left for Ottumwa, Iowa, to be with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones for the first time in over two years. They also saw their new grandson, born . Oct. 30, 'for the first time. Mr. and Mrs. Jones returned to Milford Saturday. Sat-urday. I 9 A 2c Don McDowell and a friend, A 2c Robert Hales, Wvre here for Christmas at the home of Don's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McDowell. The two boys returned to George A F Base near Victorville, Cal., then made another visit to Milford Mil-ford to be with the McDowells over the New Year holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Killam and son David were in Las Vegas over the New Year holidays, holi-days, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted McCulley. En route to Las Vegas the Killams stopped stop-ped at Mesquite, Nev., and called on the Lawrence Easton family. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rose and son Robert were in Caliente, Nev., during the Christmas holidays. hol-idays. Robert remained for a longer visit with his brother Ronnie and family. Mrs. Edith Osborn lias been in Lynndyl with the Ray and Myrt Mills family over the holidays. hol-idays. Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Cam-peau Cam-peau and two children have returned re-turned to Mil'ford to live. The couple had been living in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Munk and , three children were visitors at the home of Mr. Munk's brother, broth-er, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Munk, last week. They were en route to their home in San Luis I Obispo, Calif., after spending ! the Christmas holidays with I relatives in Salt Lake. Kenneth Munk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Munk, has returned re-turned to school in San Pablo, Calif., after spending the holidays holi-days in Milford. Donald left Milford Sunday with his brother broth-er Kenneth, and stopped in Salt Lake to visit a few days with relatives. Mr.' and Mrs. Clif Reese were here over the holidays, at the I 'home of Mr. and Mrs. David! Reese. Clif returned to Esca-lante, Esca-lante, while Mrs. Reese left Saturday for Twin Falls, Idaho, to spend a week with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cerva. 9 Walter Cook is a patient at the Beaver County Hospital. Mel Bacon visited for a week with his fiance, Alice Cook, ; and they left last Saturday for Salt Lake, where Alice was a guest for a week at the home of Mr. Bacon's mother, Mrs. Etta Bacon. 9 Doug Cook spent the Christmas Christ-mas holidays in Milford with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cook and family, returning to Provo Tuesday with his aunt, Mrs. Bertha Cottrell. Mrs. Cottrell came down from Provo last Sunday to spend a few days with the Cook family and other relatives and friends. John Michaelson returned to his hom- in May'field after visiting vis-iting a week with his son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Young. Iola Young was in Delta last week end at the home of Mr. i and Mrs. Thorpe Waddingham. Mr. and Mrs. Waddingham brought Iola home and spent Monday evening with the Young family. |
