Show THURSDAY'S PROGRAM DURING NATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK By Sandra Johnson Lois Fowles, M. C, to start the program led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, after which the students and parents sang "America," directed di-rected by Mr. McDermott and accompanied by. Karen . Archer. After the song the invocation was given by Rev. Longacre of the Nazarene Church. Two fine speeches on "Our Urgent School Needs" were given by Gary Bingham and De-Wayne De-Wayne Myers, followed by two members from a saxophone quartet consisting of Gayle Tolley, Tol-ley, Russell Sly, Vaughn McDonald Mc-Donald and Darryl Schramm. They played "Sleepers Awake" and "Pilgrim's Chorus." Mr. Long introduced, Supt. David Pearce, the guest speak-, er, who then gave a very interesting inter-esting speech on School Needs. Mr. Pierce's' speech ended the assembly and students were excused to go home for the day while the parents visited the school to talk with the teachers |
