Show Seconb TlXHatb By MRS. BETH FISHER The monthly ward officers and teachers meeting was held last Sunday instead of the usual first Sunday of the month. The change was due to conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City this next week-end. It is expected that most of the bishopric bish-opric and a number of other Second Warders will attend. After some preliminary busi- I ness was taken up in the officers offi-cers and teachers meeting the group separated into departments depart-ments and a number of persons were set apart to work in the various organizations. Irene Posey, Ruby James, Lucille Belliston and Florence Beard were set apart to work in the Primary. Afton Hollis was made assistant secretary of the Sundal School, as well as chorister chor-ister in the MIA. Jeanette G. Stoker was set apart to be the Mutual organist. Officers and teachers of the Primary met at the Howard Paice home ' in South Milford for a preparation meeting on Oct. 1. Mrs. Paice is one of the new teachers in the Primary. She, together with her husband and their four children, have purchased the Art Williams farm and home and have moved here from Beaver. At the baptismal service held in Minersville on Sept. 29 there were 15 persons from the Milford Mil-ford Second Ward baptized. They were Edward Frank Posey, Pos-ey, Diane Wilcock, Lewis Allen Mahoney, Sylvia Rose Stahl, McKay Rollins, Margaret Ann Whittaker, Patricia Mae Had-ley, Had-ley, Sherrie Lish, Lean Smith Carl Edwin Patterson, Kenneth Ross Patterson, Velma Patterson, Patter-son, Rosemary Busico, Rodney Ogden, and Rick James Berger. The baptizing was done by Oren J. Loveland, and the confirmations, confirma-tions, which were taken care of immediately after the baptizing were done by Gael Elmer, Karl Stott and Oren Loveland. The speaker in Sacrament meeting on Sept. 30 was Aaron Hanson, the seminary teacher. Fireside on Sept. 30 was held ! at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Carter. There was a large attendance at Sunday School on Sept. 30 The secretary's report showed 153 persons present. The first regular Relief Society So-ciety meeting was held on Oct. 2. The theology lesson was given by Helen Gillins as Gertrude Ger-trude Fisher, the regular teacher, teach-er, was ill. After the lesson the time was spent in testimony bearing. t |
