Show Second Ward Notes SCOUTS HOLD COURT OF HONOR IN MILFORD A highly successful Court of Honor was held for Beaver County Scouts and Scouters on Feb. 15th in the L D S Church in Milford. There were about 150 persons in attendance, some 90 of whom were Boy Scouts and about 20 leaders. Frank Jones of the Milford Second Ward made 14-,awards to Second Ward Scou's. Rulon Hardy, Karl Merry weather, Le-land Le-land Beard and Gerald Gillins j received Second Class awards and the following boys received j Tenderfoot awards: Lynn Vestal, Ves-tal, Richard Kellogg, Douglas Memmott, Freddie Wright, Don and DuWayne Alger, John Dee j Wilcock, Harlan Thomas, Russell Rus-sell Griffith and Ronald Banks. The mothers of all 14 boys were present to see them honored and to receive miniature duplicates dupli-cates of the boys' pins. The opening prayer was given giv-en by Robert Glenn of the First Ward and the closing prayer by i George C. Goodwin. The baby soil of Edwin Var-nord Var-nord and Geraldine Stoker Wilson Wil-son was blessed on Feb. 18 by Frank Jones and given Ihe name of Thomas William Wilson. Wil-son. Mrs. Wilson is a granddaughter grand-daughter of Mrs. Maude Stoker and lives in Dragerton, Utah. Recent ordinations to the priesthood include the following: follow-ing: William Leroy Myers was orda'ned a Sevently on Feb. 11 by Elder Ezra Taft Benson, and DelRoy Jones was ordained a Teacher on Feb. 19 by Joseph C. Bishop Gronning wishes to announce that there will be a special meeting next Sunday, March 4, right af'er Sunday j School. This meeting is very important and all ward officers ; and teachers are urged to be present. Musical numbers in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting on Feb. 25 were furnished by several of the ' 'teen-age girls of the ward. Af-ton Af-ton Hollis, who is a Junior Gleaner, sang a solo. She was accompanied by Karen Archer. The second number was a song by 'he MIA Maids. Those singing sing-ing were Alice Williams, Zelda Merryweather, Deon Lofthouse and Gayle Tolley. Jeannette GJlins, a Junior-Gleanor, accompanied ac-companied them. Several members of the Stake Sunday School Board were visitors vis-itors at Sunday School on Feb. 25. Part of the Stake Presidency Presi-dency was also down and met wi h the bishopric during Sunday Sun-day School. On Feb. 26 three young men were advanced in the Priesthood Priest-hood and made elders. They were Gerald W.' Stoker, ordained or-dained by Bishop Carlyle Gronning; Gron-ning; Frank G. Lewis, ordained by Rudolph Nielsen, and F. Kent Hanney, ordained by Geo. C. Goodwin, - The Second Ward Bishopric had a special meeting on Friday Fri-day at the home of Bishop Gronning. Gron-ning. The wives were also present to help get the Fast Offering Of-fering records up to date. Afterward Aft-erward Mrs. Gronning served cake and ice cream to those present. Counselor J. C. Smith and Mrs. Smith were excused due to illness. Fireside on Feb. 25 was held after Sacrament meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bankj. The J. C. Smith family very ably presented the program in Sacrament meeting last Sunday, Feb. 25. Jean and Renee Norton, Nor-ton, grandchildren of the Smiths, recited poems.
