Show MILFORD BOY ATTENDS SCOUT JAMBOREE Jay Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Nelson, left June 22 from Provo with the Delta Scout troop to attend the International Scout Jamboree which is being held at Valley Forge, Pa. Jay, representing the Milford Scout Troop No. 324, joined the Delta troop at Delta and then went on to Provo to join the rest of the Utah Scouts and to board the tourist Pullman that is to take them to Valley Forge. They will travel to Denver, Omaha, Chicago, Detroit, Niag-' Niag-' ara Falls, Palmyra, Joseph ! Smith Farm, Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah and New York City. There they will spend 2V2 days. They plan to visit such points of interest as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, United Nations, Music Hall, Grand Central Park, Coney Island, Statue of Liberty. t They will also take a boat ride around Manhattan Island, see a big league baseball game at Yankee Stadium, and then tour the city and visit the National Headquarters of the Boy Scouts of America. After touring New York City they will go on to Valley Forge where, for a week, they will join in scout activtiies with Boy Scouts from all parts of the world. On the return trip they will visit Washington, D. C, for 2V6 days, Mt. Vernon, Louisville, Ky.; St. Louis, Carthage, Nau-voo, Nau-voo, and return home through Pueblo and the Royal Gorge in Colorado, arriving in Provo on the morning of July 13th. Expected in Milford about July 7th are Mrs. Lola Tanner 'and two small children, Stephen and Jeffrey, of California. She will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Morris. |
