Show i . - .. . I 0 Interest to Women APRIL NINTH was a special day for Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth, it marking the 30th i anniversary of their residence in Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Pitchforth came to Milford as newlyweds in 1919, after Mr. Pitchforth was discharged from the U S Navy, where he had served for two years on the USS Great Northern, North-ern, a troop transport, during! World War I. Mr. Pitchforth accepted ac-cepted employment with the U P as yard clerk, and is now a conductor. " The Pitchforths have five children, Mrs. Eugene Crosby, S. Eugene Pitchforth Jr., Patricia, Patri-cia, Donald and Florence. Mrs. Pitchforth was a native of New York before coming to Milford. PHYLLIS KEETCH entertained enter-tained the Gabridgettes Thursday Thurs-day of last week. Bridge was played and luncheon served. It being Toni Uffens' birthday, birth-day, she received a gift from the club, and each member was served an individual cake. Prizes were won by Louise Delgardo, high points, and Verg Goodwin, honors. Others present pres-ent were Rae Anderson, Mable Westergard, Leah Pullem, Ina Norton and Maudell Crane. THE AMERICAN LEGION Auxiliary held their regular l meeting Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Emma Smith, with Bernice Smith, first vice-president, presiding. Subscriptions were entered for "The Star," a magazine published pub-lished in Carville, La., for the offices of Drs. Busch and Fowler. Five dollars was contributed to the cancer fund. After other business was disposed dis-posed of, cribbage was played by the guests seated at one long table, with a gift for each member mem-ber from the hostess. Each guest also devoured a large serving of strawberry short cake. AMONG May brides will be charming Miss Beverley Rae Weston, who will recite marriage mar-riage vows with Mr. Paul H. Palmer on Monday, May 2nd. A reception will follow at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Weston. THE BIG FOUR bridge club met at the home of Mrs. George Moore last Monday evening. At bridge Mrs. Fay Brad-field, Brad-field, Mrs. Harry Garfield and Mrs. Randall Banks received the prizes. Other players were Mrs. Grover Cuddy, Mrs. Vern shingleton, Mrs. Edgar Moore and Mrs. James Holm. |
