Show ! THIS WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By JOY GARDNER Regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to the American Legion Le-gion was held at the home of Mrs. Alton Marshall, Feb. 23rd. Mrs. Margaret Williams, Jim-' Jim-' my and Ann are in Minersville visiting for several weeks. Their many friends are happy to have them back, i Mrs. Effie Marshall and Mrs. Jim Rollins attended a birthday ' dinner in honor of Mrs. Lydia Bonn of Beaver, last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Dalton and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marshall Mar-shall spent the 24th visiting the Ambrose Dalton's in Beaver. Mrs. Douglas Farnow and .' Jere' of Las Vegas were here for several days, visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Monday, where Mrs. Davis is undergoing medical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Marshall, Jeff and Mrs. Lee Gressman motored mo-tored to Richfield Monday on business (a new Buick). Mr. William Bradshaw is in the Milford hospital recovering from pneumonia. ' j Mrs. Merrill Jameson gave a, bundle shower Saturday for her daughter, Mrs. Bernice Limb of Beaver. A lovely luncheon was served and the afternoon j was spent playing bunco. Many useful and lovely gifts were received. Miss Helen Marshall of Provo, Ruth and Rachel Marshall of Salt Lake and Margene Thompson Thomp-son of Salt Lake were home visiting vis-iting their parents over the week end, and took in the Beaver-Milford Beaver-Milford game. Miss LaReena Robinson was home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robinson, over the ; week-end. . S. Evans, Tuesday, March 1, at the George Wood home. Many lovely gifts were tendered ten-dered the honored couple. Open house was held in honor of Mrs. Hannah Alice Cor-bridge Cor-bridge on her 82nd birth anniversary, anni-versary, February 28th. Mrs. Etta Rollins was honored on her birth anniversary by a visit from her sisters, Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Robinson, Mrs. George Wood, Mrs. Blaine Banks and Mrs. Walter Pearson. Bishop Ruben Dotson underwent under-went an appendectomy last week at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. Walter Pearson was honored by his family on his birth anniversary, anni-versary, February 26th. Ice cream and cake were served, and a very enjoyable time was had by all. Tex Marshall was awarded a radio for outstanding sportsmanship. In previous games, Minersville Miners-ville defeated Hinckley, 42-36, and the Cedar Fourth Ward. 28-20. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Gillies announce an-nounce the engagement and approaching ap-proaching marriage of their daughter, Shirley, to Mr. Craig George Marshall, 'son of Mrs. Emma Augusta Marshall. The marriage date is set for Monday, Mon-day, March 7th, and will be followed fol-lowed by a reception. The bride- J elect is a student at the Beaver high school, and Mr. Marshall attended the Milford high school. Rumor has it that Director Joe Pasternak offered Margaret Truman a role in a picture but the president's daughter turned it down, saying, "I'm not ready I for pictures yet and I know it!"
