Show RECORD CROWD ATTENDS ANNUAL MILFORD M I A COLD AND GREEN BALL Last Tuesday, March 1st, a record crowd attended the Milford Mil-ford Ward MIA annual Gold and Green Ball, staged in the ward amusement hall. The hall was beautifully decorated dec-orated and carried out the theme "Moonlight and Roses." Two blue spotlights focused on the blue ceiling, and a moon peeping peep-ing from behind a scene of trees, added greatly to the atmosphere suggested by the theme title. A floor show, under the direction direc-tion of Leland Thompson, chairman, chair-man, was presented at 10.30, featuring the following numbers: num-bers: Eight Gleaner Girls, directed by Dance Director Maurine Miller, Mil-ler, presented the dance "Quadrille "Quad-rille of the Colors," accompanied by Mrs. Toni Uffens. Dancers were Ellen Carlton, Barbara Jones, Rae Thompson, Florence Openshaw, Shirleen Barnes, Sherral Stott and Rhonda Openshaw. Open-shaw. The coronation ceremony followed fol-lowed the dance, with Stake President A. Carlos Murdock placing the beautiful crown upon the head of the queen, Miss Shir-lene Shir-lene Barnes. Rae Thompson . Barbara Jones, Florence Open shaw and Ellen Carlton were her attendants. Gael Elmer sang a vocal solo, "Moonlight and Roses," accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Uffens. . Ramona . Stewart presented two tap dance numbers, accompanied by Bonnie Bon-nie Tomsik, after which Mrs. Evelyn Brannon sang "In the Garden of Tomorrow," accompanied accom-panied by Bonnie Tomsik. Mrs. E. L. Smith played a pfiano solo, "Moonlight," and Mr. John M. Williams sang a vocal solo, "Because," accompanied accompa-nied by Sarah Murdock. Little 4-year-old Penny Robb sang two numbers, "Heartbreaker," and "On a Slow Boat to China," after, which dancing was enjoyed for the remainder of the evening. |
