By SECOND-GUESSER Following the games at Delta, with many of the playrs declaring declar-ing the Delta Rabbits to be the "team to beat" in this region, instead of the Tribune-tabbed Beavers, Editor Frank Beckwith of the Delta Chronicle and Ed-r. Ed-r. itor S. A. Williams of the Mil ford News added an extra incentive in-centive for the two teams when they meet each year. A handsome trophy, to be engraved, ''Chronicle-News Basketball Bas-ketball Trophy," will be awarded the winner of each game played between the two teams in league competition. The trophy will never be retired, but each winner win-ner with the score will be engraved en-graved on the cup, and the team winning the final contest each year will keep the trophy until the following year, when it will 'A. again be placed "on the block for the teams to battle for. Wives of the visitors also were present . to enjoy the dinner, served in V the Catholic church, and listen in on the two brief addresses. Mr. Schonian gave a resume of the work of the association, and Mr. Warnock touched briefly on the "reluctance" of county school boards in the southern part of the state to properly publish pub-lish the annual financial statement. state-ment. Also introduced to the local group were Mr. Frank Beckwith of Delta, district director of the association, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Rollo of Cedar City, and Mr. and Mrs. Aird Merkley of Beaver. After the dinner meeting, the visitors were entertained in the home of Lion President and Mrs. Sam Cline. |
