Show FISH LAKE YIELDS , TWO TONS IN ONE DAY At least two tons of fish were taken out of Fish Lake on the opening day, June 14, and Sunday, Sun-day, June 15, Utah fish and game department officials estimated esti-mated today. Merrill Hand, chief deputy warden, reported a total of 243 cars were checked over a period of about seven hours. Of the 619 persons in the cars, 145 were not fishing. A total of 2714 fishj were counted, with an average weight of 3A lb. each. "Of all the cars checked, only two contained an over-limit of fish," Hand said. The chief deputy said that on the east side of the famous lake fishermen's boats ranged from three to five abreast down the entire length of the lake. "We can be safe inestimating that on the first two days of fishing, anglers took out at least two tons of trout. Experienced fishermen were getting their limiits or close to it," Hand wrote in a report to Ross Leonard, state fish and game director. |
