Show Fifth Dimension returns to BYU The Fifth Dimension, a vocal group which probably broke all applause records at Brigham Young University when it performed per-formed last April, will return Friday, December 12, to star in the Winter Carnival concert. After their last performance in the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse, a near-capacity crowd gave them a several-minute several-minute standing ovation and was shouting for "more" when the concert ended. Ticket sales for the 8 p.m. concert, which promises to be another sellout, will go on sale to the public Monday. Their first single, "Up, Up and Away," not only took them to the top of the national hit parade, but won them four awards in the 1968 tenth Annual An-nual National Academy of Recording Re-cording Arts and Sciences Grammy Awards. The t h r e e-man, two-girl group has a repertoire that runs the whole gamut of modern mod-ern vocal treatment. They go from hard rock to soft melodies melo-dies and back again with a versatility ver-satility few groups can match. Their whole performance is set off by brilliantly-colored costumes cos-tumes and an exciting brand of showmanship and sparkle. |
