Show Martin Lewis Martin Lewis, 83, paid respects at funeral rites Final respects were paid Martin Lewis, 83, at funeral services held Saturday in the Fourth Ward under the direction direc-tion of Bishop John Patrick. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Lewis died September Sep-tember 18, 1969 in the Payson Hospital following a short illness. ill-ness. He was born June 12, 1886, at Panguitch, Utah, the son of Aaron and Sarah Ann Weeks Lewis. He married Maggie Ann Jacobsen, November 1, 1916 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mr. Lewis had been a resident resi-dent of Delta, Provo and Pay-son Pay-son before taking up residency in Springville in 1939. His occupation oc-cupation was that of a carpenter. carpen-ter. He was also an avid gard-ner. gard-ner. Mr. Lewis served a mission mis-sion for the LDS Church to the Western States Mission. Surviving are his wife of Springville, son and daughters, Dr. R. Celdon Lewis, Provo; Mrs. Rex (Thora) Johnson, Springville; Mrs. Dilworth M. (Lola) Simmons, Sacramento, California; Mrs. J. Kent (lone) Heaps, Concord, California; Mrs. Don T. (Colleen) Parker, Bcuntiful; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. |
