Show BYU Dramatic Arts Department lists hits Brigham Young University Dramatic Arts Department announced an-nounced a prodigious stage season which includes seven major plays, plus three original dramas, a musical, an opera, Reader's Theater productions, and special Children's Theater shows. The plays include the following: follow-ing: "The Innocents," September Septem-ber 24 to October 4, Dr. Lael J. Woodbury, director; "Joan of Lorraine," October 17 to November No-vember 1, Dr. Preston Gledhill, director. Musical, "Jo," Max Golightly, director, date to be announced. Play, "The Imaginary Invalid," Inva-lid," February 27 to March 4, Dr. Charles Metten, director and star. "I Remember Mama," March 26 to April 2, Dr. Preston Pres-ton Gledhill, director. "The Madwoman of Chaillot," April ;7 to May 2, Dr. Harold I. Hansen, director. BYU's "original season": Dr. Albert Mitchell will direct a yet untitled play from November Novem-ber 26 to December 6. Another by Professor Max Golightly, February 25 to March 7 and the final, "W-2 Form" directed by Lael J. Woodbury. Musical will be "One Hundred Hun-dred and Ten in the Shade," a musical adaptation of "The Rainmaker" directed by Charles W. Whitman. Dr. Whitman will direct a faculty Reader's Theater, "The Green Pastures" January 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16. A student Readers' Theater will be October Oc-tober 8-10. Opera will be "Girl of the Golden West" in November by Charles Metten. The April-May opera, Professor Max Golightly director, "Pilgrim's Progress." January will be a special Children's Chil-dren's Theater production by Dr. Morris Clinger. Season tickets for the season are available from the Harris Fine Arts Center box office. |
