Show Hafen-Dallin officers plan for activities in October gress of Poets in the Philippines. Philip-pines. Final meeting of the fall series ser-ies will be held October 30 when Lorna Harrison will give a program about the poet Robert Rob-ert Browning. All Hafen-Dallin programs throughout October are scheduled sched-uled to be held at the Spring-ville Spring-ville Art Museum beginning at 4:15. Anyone interested is given giv-en a cordial invitation to attend at-tend these programs which are open to the public without charge. New officers of the Hafen-Dallin Hafen-Dallin organization are looking forward to their October activities activ-ities which will be centered around literature and writing. The new officers in charge include in-clude Lucille Turner, president; Melva Smith, vice president; Lucille Weight, secretary; Marie Ma-rie Whiting, historian; and board members, LaVon Hansen., past president; Beth Coffman and Ann Bartlett. First meeting for the new-fall new-fall year will be held October 2 with guest speaker Marilyn McMean Miller giving excerpts from a new novel to be published pub-lished in the spring, and also poetry. No meeting is scheduled for October 9 because of UEA. Willard and Celia Luce will combine their talents for the October 16 meeting to tell what goes into making a book. Mr. Luce will tell about writing and Mrs. Luce will describe the steps involved in putting the book together for the publisher. Scheduled for the third meeting meet-ing October 23 will be Dr. Le-Roy Le-Roy Hafen and his wife, Ann Woodbury Hafen, noted writers. The Hafens have just returned from attending the World Con- |
