Show Gov. Rampton jj open ULCU meet Governor Calvin L. Rampton will be the speaker at the first meeting of the 1969-71 bien-nium bien-nium of the Women's Legislative Legisla-tive Council of Utah County. The meeting will be on Thursday, Thurs-day, October 2, at 9:30 a.m. in the Women's Cultural Center, Cen-ter, 310 West 500 North, Provo, Utah. The Governor is scheduled to speak on new legislation to be brought before the 1970-71 sessions of the Utah Legislature, Legisla-ture, and suggestions of areas in which the women represented represent-ed by the council could work for better legislation. An affiliate of the Women's State Legislative Council, the Utah County Council, is composed com-posed of representatives from more than 500 Women's Organizations Organ-izations in the county, according accord-ing to Mrs. E. Dee Olpin, president. presi-dent. Any organization of approximately approxi-mately twenty members interested inter-ested in the objective of better legislation through the study of civic interests and problems is eligible for membership. The Council is non-partisan nd both political parties are represented. Officers for the 1969-71 bi-ennium bi-ennium include the following: Mrs. E. Dee Olpin, Pleasant Grove, president; Mrs. Ivan Carlson of Spanish Fork, first vice president; Mrs. J. J, Keel-er Keel-er of Provo, second vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. James Harvey of Pleasant Grove, treasurer; Mrs. Gerald Belliston of Pleasant Grove, recording secretary; Mrs. Donald Young of American Ameri-can Fork, corresponding secretary; secre-tary; Mrs. Ted Martindale of Springvi 1 1 e, historian; Mrs. Clair Acord of Provo, hospitality; hospital-ity; Mrs. Frank Jones of Lehi, state director. Directors are Mrs. Parley Neeley of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Boyd Smuin and Mrs. Douglas Smith of Lehi, and Mrs. Perci-val Perci-val Bigelow of Provo. |
