Show Pfc. Johnson receives badge One of the Army badges that soldiers wear with special pride is the Combat Infantryman Badge. It was awarded to Private Pri-vate First Class Steven M. Johnson, 20, near Pleiku. Vietnam, Viet-nam, March 8. Pvt. Johnson, whose parents, Mr .and Mrs. Wayne L. Shep-ard, Shep-ard, live at 191 West 200 South, Springville, is assigned to the 4th Infantry Division as a rifleman. rifle-man. The CIB has been awarded since late in World War II for sustained ground contact against an enemy. In honor of its singular meaning, the badge is worn above all other awards and decorations, dec-orations, over the left breast. It is a blue rectangle with a silver rifle mounted on it superimposed super-imposed over a curved wreath.
