Show Jeune Mere hears about Senior Citizens Lenore Bills and Mable Wright were co-hostesses to the Jeune Mere Club Wednesday evening at the Community Service Ser-vice Center. Mrs. Gwen Tippetts gave information in-formation on the organizing of the Senior Citizens by her husband. hus-band. There were five people who attended the first meeting of the group held at the Art City Lanes. From this small beginning be-ginning the Senior Citizens group has grown in numbers to a total of 350 individuals. Mrs. Tippetts pointed out the many opportunities available through the organization including in-cluding ceramic work, leather-work, leather-work, polishing and collecting locks of al! kinds, rug weaving, weav-ing, picture shows, programs. A monthly dinner is a highlight. high-light. There arc weekly dances and highly successful tours throughout the country. Mrs. Tippetts gave a demon-stiation demon-stiation or rug making. She had a display of different kinds of rugs and took the group to the Senior Citizens headquarters headquar-ters tc demonstrate the rug weaving. There were 15 members mem-bers in attendance. |
