Show Donkey game tonight I Donkey basketball the world's craziest sport, corres to j Springville High School t.night ' beginning at 8 p.m. To make the evening more nilarious, the sponsors of the ; event have set up a double header featuring competition between the principals of the I various schools, past and pres-I pres-I ent and the city fathers. The ; second feature will bf between the high school facuty members mem-bers and a student team. ', Competing on the principal's ; list are Harold Baitlett, prin-; prin-; cipal of the high school; Waldo i Jacobson, principal of the ! Grant; Ray Clark, principal of ; the Brookside: Del Moine .hristensen, Jr. High School; Bob Evans, Omar Hansen and Gordon Smith. For the city fathers there will be Mayor Calvin Packard, Leonard James, Murray Peay, Kenneth C r e e r, councilmen; Ashley Oraham. police chief; Martain Reed and Jack Allen. Playing on the faculty team will be Merrill Carter. David Thyne, Phillip Bird, Wade Bender, Winn Wilcox, Mike Jacobsen and Bud Parker. Student team members will be headed by "Tiny" Dennis Robertson, Eric Orton, Richard Rich-ard Hjorth, Jeff Roberts, Everett Ev-erett Holdaway, Tom Cherring-ton Cherring-ton and Paul Wheeler. The double header fun show is being sponsored by the Spr-ingville Spr-ingville High School Band to help raise funds for the purchasing pur-chasing of new marching uniforms. uni-forms. The patronage of the entire town will be appreciated according to David Thayne, band director. Tickets are being sold at the door or at Allen's Market, City Drug and Brook-side Brook-side Market. For the games, the band has obtained the services of the nationally known Buckeye Donkey Ball Co., of Columbus, Ohio. This game played on the backs of real living donkeys has for years been the laugh hit of the century. READY FOR ACTION Principal Harold Bartlett is apparently comfortably seated atop the donkey while Police Chief Ashley . Graham keeps a rein on the little fellow as they attempt to get on the good side of the animal for the donkey basketball game tonight at the high school gym. City fathers and school principals will compete as will faculty members and students. The event begins at 8 p.m. and is band uniform benefit. |
