Show Nuclear test reports urged To assist in the evaluation of earthquake intensity scales, the seismological laboratory of the Mackay School of Mines, University Uni-versity of Nevada, is requesting citizens to contribute information informa-tion relating to effects of the underground nuclear test conducted con-ducted on April 26, 1968, by the Atomic Energy Commission at Pahute Mesa, Nevada. The school is monitoring the event in cooperation with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey whose standard report form is available. It is especially important im-portant to this study to receive reports on any ground motion felt in rural or more remote areas. Citiezns located within a 250-mile radius of Pahute Mesa (some 30 miles north of Beatty in Nye County, Nevada) are invited in-vited to send a report to Dr. David B. Slemmons, Collaborator Collabora-tor in Seismology, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, Mackay School of Mines, University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada 89507. |
