Show Public invited to view mineral 1 gem show of local rockhounds A feature Friday at 2 p.m. will be a field trip to the Earth Sciences Museum, BYU. There will also be swap tables, films, a silent auction and dealers. Field trips to collecting areas in Utah will be led by experienced exper-ienced guides. Walter N Cole, Provo, president presi-dent of the Utah Federation and immediate past president of the Timpanogos Society, is general chairman of the event. Utah gemstones, cut and polished pol-ished to enhance their color and brilliance, will be featured at the annual Gen and Mineral Show of the Utah Federation of Gem and Mineral Societies May 10, 11, and 12 at Provo. The Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society (Utah County rockhounds) will be the host club. Participating groups are Wasatch Gem and Mineral Society Soc-iety of Salt Lake City, Utah Mineralogical Society, Points and Pebbles from Moab, Castle Valley Gem and Mineral Society Soc-iety of Price, Cedar City Rock Club and the Tooele Gem and Mineral Society. Members of the Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society from Springville include Mr. and Mrs. Gene Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Williams, Wil-liams, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Wiley, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stuart, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Soderlund, Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Sanders, Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Patten, Mr and Mrs. Shirl Pettro, Wil-ford Wil-ford Mellor, Mr. and Mrs. Parry Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Black. Louis and Lula Clark have an extensive antique bottle collection col-lection as well as rocks. Paul and Alice Wright also have some very unusual pieces in their collections. In addition to the finished gemstones, the show will also have on display more than 100 cases of original jewelry, silver designs, collections of rare gemstones, gem-stones, crystal specimens and Utah and western artifacts. The show, open daily at the Eldred Center, is free of charge and the public is invited to attend. at-tend.
