Show Alpha Beta Club opens with social Lovely in every detail was the opening social for Alpha Beta Club members and their guests, held in the form of a dinner and program, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clyde Friday evening of last week. Mrs. Earl Goates, president, welcomed the group and read an appropriate poem about September. Special entertainment was furnished during the evening by Miss Susan Hsich, a student at BYU from Taiwan (Formosa). (For-mosa). She sang several numbers num-bers accompanied by Miss Grace Hsu, from Taiwan, who played piano selections. Miss Hsich also told many interesting interest-ing things about her homeland and the people and exhibited a number of beautiful linens, pearls, jade and other items from the country. Both girls are converts to the LDS faith. Hostesses for the evening were, Mrs. W. W. Clyde, Mrs. Earl Goates, Mrs. Earl Condie, Mrs. William Witney, Mrs. Dimick Huntington, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Jr., Mrs. Myron C. Childs, Mrs. George E. Roy-lance Roy-lance and Mrs. James H. War-die, War-die, the latter two being new members. Present besides the hostesses were: Mr. Clyde, Mr. Goates, Mr. Wardle, Mr .and Mrs. W. W. Brockbank, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Clyde, Mr .and Mrs. G. Ray Hales, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Har-mon Hatch, Mr .and Mrs. Barney Bar-ney F. Krause, Mr. and Mrs F. C. Packard, Mrs. Emil Ost-lund, Ost-lund, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith, and special guests of members, Mrs. Will Mower, Le Roy Erickson, Mrs. Blanch Beal. |
