Show Exotic game birds begin laying eggs Reports from the Utah Fish and Game Department's Price Game Farm indicate initial successful suc-cessful hatching of eggs from Utah's newest exotic game birds, the pale spotted and crested tinamous. Since the birds were brought in from Argentina where the seasons are opposite those in Utah, there was question as to whether the birds would lay eggs this year, but a recent report re-port noted 22 eggs from the spotted tinamou were placed in the incubators and 15 eggs from the crested tinamou have been placed in the incubators. Two to five eggs have been found in the nest sand the incubation in-cubation period has been from 22 to 26 days. The birds are still laying, so total production for this year will not be known until all eggs are hatched out. This initial production looks very favorable for these new exotic game birds in Utah. |
