' J I GEORGE BIRD Cashier and Director George Bird joined Springville Spring-ville Banking Company in 1946 as Assistant Cashier, rose to Cashier in 1961 and is now a member of the Board of Directors. Direc-tors. Another "native son," George was educated at Springville' Spring-ville' High, and obtained bis Bachelor of Science Degree at B.Y.U. Additional training in finance was obtained through the Army Finance School, and the American Institute in Banking. Bank-ing. George has rendered distinguished dis-tinguished service to his community com-munity and his church. He is past president of the following organizations: Springville Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Ki-wanis Club, Utah County Bankers Bank-ers Association, Utah County A.I.B. He is a member of the American Legion, and has won the Distinguished Service Award from the Springville Chamber of Commerce. D. R. PACKARD Director D. R. Packard was born and reared in Springville and graduated grad-uated from Springville High School. He received his B. S. Degree in economics and business busi-ness at Utah State University after which he worked one year in British Columbia as Secretary Secre-tary to the manager of a construction con-struction company. He organized organ-ized a real estate company in the big Lost River Valley of Idaho and sold farms, besides farming 320 acres of his own in this valley. During World War I Mr. Packard volunteered ior active duty in the Air Force ever seas. In 1921, he took a position as salesman with the Utah Wholesale Grocery Company. Com-pany. Later became a Director of the American Wholesale Grocery Gro-cery Company. He is now serving as President Presi-dent and Director the Packard-Almond Packard-Almond Investment Company; Vice President and Director of the M. 0. BROCKBANK Director In early fife, Wallace Brock-bank Brock-bank was engaged in farming and livestock business. Later teaching became his chosen profession. For 43 years he served in Nebo School District as high school teacher, principal princi-pal and superintendent. While in this position, he was elected President of the Utah Society of School Superintendents and was President of other educational organizations. He holds a Master's Mas-ter's Degree and has done graduate grad-uate work at U.S.C. Los Angeles; Ange-les; U.C. at Berkeley and Stanford Stan-ford University. For twelve years he was President of the Springville Art Association, during which time the Art building was erected. He also served as a member of the Springville City Council. At the present time he is an active member of the Springville Kiwanis Ki-wanis Club and was a Charter Member of the Spanish Fork Club in -1921. He is a life-long worker in the L.D.S. Church, where he has served in many capacities. He became a director of the Springville Banking Company in 1947. PHILIP PERLM4 Director Mr. Perlrnan was V' Salt Lake City, on M 1920. He moved to Pro! BILLINGS Director Mr. Billings is a native of Utah and was educated in the Salt Lake public schools. He graduated from the University of Utah and Harvard Law School. During the First World War, he served as Chief of the Legal Division, Office of Chief of Transportation, U.S. Army, with the rank of Major. After the war he returned to Salt Lake City where he has practiced prac-ticed law since 1946 as a member mem-ber of Fabian & Clendenin. Presently Chairman of the Coodinating Council of Higher High-er Education for the State of Utah. He has served as an officer offi-cer and member of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross, Family Service Society, Utah Heart Association, Utah Mental Men-tal Health Association and is Wm. W. BRERETON Director Mr. Brereton was born and educated in Provo. He graduated graduat-ed from Lincoln High School. Mr. Brereton has been employed em-ployed continuously with Utah Power and Light Company since 1935. At the present time he is manager of the Snake Creek Hydro-Electric Station in Wasatch County. Seeking work following graduation gradu-ation he was offered a position posi-tion 'as assistant cashier of Soringville Banking Company and on March 27, 1920 his long association with the company beoan. In 1930, he became cashier, a job he held until his resignation in 1947 when he moved to Salt Lake City to devote de-vote his attention to the various vari-ous interests of Salisbury-Packard, particularly the expansion of intermountain Finance and Thrift Company and Alberta Canning Company Ltd. In addition to being a director direc-tor of Central Bank and Trust, Mr. Salisbury is President of Evans Supply Inc. of Salt Lake; President of Bonham Corporation, Corpor-ation, Provo, Utah and Bonham,' Bon-ham,' Inc. of Pomona, Calif, and Bonham Company, Inc. of Keyser, West Virginia; Secretary-Treasurer of E.&S. WILLIAM NELSON Director Mr. Nelson is a well known native of Provo who attended Brigham Young University for three years where he pursued a major in business administration. administra-tion. His work as Posting clerk for State Bank of Provo many years ago familiarized him with bank and credit proceedures and he started with Provo City Utilities Department as a billing bill-ing clerk in 1940. Continuing to serve bhe city of Provo, he worked as Credit Manager, Director Di-rector of Sales Promotion and Public relations and in November Novem-ber of 1963 was appointed City Treasurer and Purchasing agent. In April of 1966, at Palo Alto, Calif., he was elected Vice-President Vice-President of the Municipal Treasurer's Association of the United States. As a practicing physician, Dr. Hammond has served Provo residents since 1946. He is Past President of the Utah County Medical Society, Past President of the Utah Valley Hospital Staff, Past President of the Riverside Riv-erside Country Club and a member mem-ber of its Board of Directors. Mr. Strong's acomplishments in church and community are well documented and he was eulogized in the Deseret News as "a poet, a builder, a leader of men." Mr. Strong's interest, and ability in construction began be-gan when at the age of fourteen he built his first home, and the year he graduated from Springville Spring-ville High School, he contracted for and built another. PRICE Director Best known as the former Mayor of Springville and for has years of working with the youth, Mr. Price also brings a wealth of experience to his position as Director of Central Bank and Trust. A graduate of Springville high school where he participated in virtually all athletic events, he then attended he University of Utah and graduated from Utah State University. Uni-versity.
