Show FewS rioted .... Mrs. Lyle Childs and Miss Myrtle Childs have returned from an enjoyable three weeks vacation trip to Woodbridge, Va. They were guests of Mrs. Child's son Lewis B. Childs Jr., and spent nearly all the time sight-seeing from Williamsburg on the south to Gettsburg, Pa. on the north and from Washington Wash-ington D.C. to Charleston, Va. enjoying me many Historical areas and scenic spots. A highlight high-light of one of the tours was a boat ride down the Potomac River from Washington D.C. to Mt. Vernon. Lewis B. Jr., who is a chemical engineer for the Atlantic Chemic a 1 Research Corporation, also took them on an enjoyable trip in his boat on the river. They made the trip to and from the east by jet and were interested to know they were flying at some points at an altitude of 39,000 feet. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Averett in company with their son and and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar W. Averett, returned return-ed Tuesday evening from a most enjoyable vacation trip to Mexico. They went to Mexico City and there with a guide toured interesting places throughout the area. They returned re-turned by way of Texas and New Mexico stopping to tour Carlsbad Caverns at the National Na-tional Park in southern New Mexico and at interesting places pla-ces in Colorado. They were especially es-pecially impressed with Carlsbad Carls-bad Caverns In which they descended des-cended three and a half miles walking all the way and came to the surface by elevator, estimated es-timated at 75 stories up. Joe Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith of this city, is in the hospital at Colorado Col-orado Springs, Colo., for observation. |
