Show Open letter Patron writes on school issue To All Concerned I wonder just what is the general feeling of the school teachers, principals, and administrators admin-istrators of Nebo School District Dis-trict at this time. I wonder if they feel secure in their jobs, if they feel free to look into the future and make plans concerning their lives and those of the family. Wouldn't it be a great feeling feel-ing to know that at any time the ax might fall on you, that your services will no longer be needed. I'm sure that is the way many, many of the teachers teach-ers in Nebo School District feel, especially since the dismissal of two high school principals and the changing and dismissal of other teachers. Why should our school teachers tea-chers devote their many years of college and valuable experiences exper-iences to teaching in Nebo School District when they can expect to be fired or moved at any given day. They must live constantly behind a shell, one created by the district superintendent super-intendent and the board of education, ed-ucation, or suffer reprisals if they dare speak out in their own behalf. I personally appreciate the time and effort the school teachers tea-chers have put forth to educate my children. But, how can a teacher continue to do a satisfactory sat-isfactory job of teaching if he continually moved from one school to another, or if he is in constant fear of losing his job. How can we expect our children to get a decent education educa-tion under the chaos in Nebo School District? I've been under the impression impres-sion the superintendent is a man hired to administrate the school system, but under and with the approval of the five-man five-man board of education. It seems that somewhere along the line, the wires got crossed up in Nebo School District. Is it just we, here in Pay-son, Pay-son, who are concerned or do the people of our neighboring towns in Nebo School District feel as we do? In closing I'd like to say, teachers do the very best job you know how to do this next year, because the next year you may be sent to TIM BUCK TOO. Jack Etherington Pavson, Utah |
