Show Garden reception honors couple now making home in Springville In a beautiful garden setting newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Ellis, were honored at a wedding reception early this month, following their marriage mar-riage in the evening, in a home ceremony, performed by Bishop Bish-op George Puckett. The lovely young bride is the former Miss Patricia Thorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thorn. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ellis of Mapleton. The reception was held in the garden of the parents of the bride, where an attractive color theme of , yellow and white predominated in the many beautiful garden flowers and cut flower arrangements. The bride chose a white de-lustered de-lustered satin wedding gown, designed with bell skirt and chapel train and long pointed sleeves. Lace appliques studded stud-ded with seed pearls trimmed the skirt and bodice. Her veil was imported English lace and satin sprinkled with tiny pearls. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and yellow feathered carnations. Attending the bride were Carolyn Knight of Sacramento, Calif.; Ann Palfreyman, Carolyn Caro-lyn Johnson and LaLene Bird. They wore yellow crystaline sleeveless gowns designed with A-line skirts, and empire waistline. Their bouquets were yellow mums and white daisies. Jeanette Thorn, sister of the bride in similar attire, was flower girl. Best men to the groom were Calvin Wright and Alan Ellis. Randy Thorn and Brent Thorn were ushers. Others in the receiving line were parents of the couple, Mrs. Thorn wearing a deep green brocaded satin and Mrs. Ellis, pale green. Their flowers were white spider mums and yellow feathered carnations. Greeting guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norton and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson. Bonnie Barney, Christine Crandall and Mrs. Ron Knight were at the guest register. In the gift room were Mrs. Roy Bird, Brs. Blake Averett, Mrs. Ted Johnson, Mrs. Don Swenson, Mrs. Alan Johnson and Mrs. Calvin Wright. Craig Thorn, Jerry and Jeannine Bird were gift bearers. Mrs. Fron Thorn, grandmother grandmo-ther of the bride, and Dora Harmer and Margaret Johnson, aunts, were special guests. A beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake with white pillars and decorated with yellow rosebuds and white bells added to the decorative theme of the reception. re-ception. Presiding over the buffet table were Lois Thorn, Mrs. Ronald Johnson, Lucille Davies, Linda Prothero and Susan Hall; while Kadis Holley, Kar- en Johnson, Susan Johnson, Kay Swenson, Nancy and Pat Murdock, Karen Stewart and Susan Wheeler served. After a short honeymoon, the couple returned to Springville Spring-ville to make their home. |
