Show Future Farmer Chapter schedules observance of annual vjeeh to inform the public about the importance of the agricultural industry to America, the growing grow-ing need for farming, and the wide field of agriculture for young men who have a background back-ground of farm experience and training. "We have such an abundance of food in America that people are taking farmers for grant- and Kiwanis Club. It will be at Memorial Hall beginning at 7 p.m. Throughout the week there will be displays in the Springville stores and the chapter chap-ter members are planning a rabbit hunt, announces Bill Fullmer, FFA reporter. "AgricuIture Our American Heritage," is this year's FFA Week theme. The FFA members mem-bers will undertake a campaign Vocational Agriculture students stu-dents in Springville high school will join Future Farmers of America members throughout the nation in activities to focus attention on the importance of agriculture during National FFA Week, February 20-27. "Actually, farming farm-ing is now and always has been our largest and most vital vi-tal industry, and is becoming more important every day." There are 75 members in the chapter with some very good officers. They are: John Cran-dayy, Cran-dayy, president; Darrell Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, vice-president; Du-ane Du-ane Alleman .secretary; Jim Bushman, treasurer; Jack Day-bell, Day-bell, sentinel; Bill Fullmer, reporter; re-porter; John Childs, assistant reporter, and Loren Phillips, advisor. The National Future Farmers Farm-ers organization has approximately approxi-mately 400,000 members, with 9,000 local chapters in the 50 states and Puerto Rico. Membership Mem-bership in Utah totals approximately approxi-mately 3,000. Future Farmers choose tne week of Washington's birthday each year for FFA Week. It wasn't because he was a greit soldier or president, but because be-cause he was first, last and always al-ways a farmer.
