Show Mechele Hebberd, SUSC Gymnasts set competition at SUSC CEDAR CITY - What promises to be a strong Southern Utah State College women's gymnastics gym-nastics squad will open its season Friday with an evening of intrasquad competition. "We think the public should find the intrasquad in-trasquad meet very entertaining," Kathryn Berg, SUSC gymnastics coach, said. "We have a number of veteran performers back this season, to go along with some good hew; gym; nasts." Friday's meet will start at 7:30 p.m. in the SUSC Physical Education Building main gym. There will be no admission ad-mission charge. SUSC opens its regular season at home Jan. 21 with an invitational meet in Cedar City. Competing Com-peting in that meet will be Western State College, University of Southern Colorado and Adams State College of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Also entered will be Cal Poly-Pomona. The T-Bird women are also scheduled for competition at Southern Colorado, Adams State, Utah State University and Cal Poly-Pomona. The 1982-1983 RMAC championship meet will be Feb. 26 at Gunnison, Colo. .Western State will . be the host school. , ' "We should be at least mm as strong this year as we were last year," Berg explained. "Last year's squad included three freshmen and three sophomores, so the returning talent should be good. Last year SUSC placed fifth in the newly instituted in-stituted national NAIA gymnastics championships. |
