Show J Car theft suspect is caught then escapes, but is caught again CEDAR CITY After escaping from a Utah Highway Patrol trooper, an a Hedged car thief has been apprehended once again. A 22-year-old Las Vegas man was apprehended ap-prehended by the Utah Highway Patrol Nov. 21, after the UHP received a call that there had been an accident involving a mobile home near the Black Ridge. However, when UHP officers a arrived at the scene the mobile home was no longer there. Upon investigation the mobile home was located about approximately an hour and a half later near Kanarraville on the 1-15 interchange. UHP officers of-ficers located the vehicle. Due to the suspicious circumstance surrounding surroun-ding the accident UHP officers searched the suspect and located a number of stolen credit cards and also suspected that the mobile home was stolen as well. The suspect was then .aken to the Valley View Medical Center for treatment of a bump on the head received from the accident. However, the suspect escaped from the VVMC and the UHP officer. He was found once again about an hour later hit-chiking hit-chiking near the south interchage. The suspect was incarcerated in-carcerated in the Iron County Jail. "Right now we are waiting to see if Las Vegas plans to extradite ex-tradite him back on stolen vehicle charges," said Cedar City Police Officer Dennis Anderson. Charges in Iron County are pending, but had not been signed at press time by County Attorney James L. Shumate. The mobile home is believed to be owned by Marvin Henslin, of Grover City, Calif. Apparently Ap-parently Henslin left the keys in the vehicle in Loughin, Nev., where the suspect is believed to have stolen the mobile home. |
