Show RIVER GIVES UP FOURFKHERMEN By last night, Thursday, bodies of four of the five fishermen who vanished in a fishing mishap on the Snake River below fcagla Rock about ten miles below the American Falls Dam in Idaho last Thursday morning, June 7, were recovered. The body of Joe C. Miya (Miya- gishima, about 50, who operated la boarding house in Copperfield, was the first to be recovered. It was discovered Tuesday evening about 8 p.m. less than 75 feet from where the victims were last seen drifting into the rapids on Massacre Rocks. The body of August Hondo, 38. of Heyburn, Idaho, was recovered Wednesday evening and the bodies of Edward Ed-ward K. Fujimoto, 58, Salt Lake City, and Roy Yamani of Oakland, Oak-land, Calif., were found yesterday, yester-day, Thursday. Still missing is Saturo Harada, of Oakland. The search is continuing. The five fishermen disappeared disappear-ed early last Thursday morning when their small, homemade boat tangled in its own anchor rope ana was swamped by the treacherous waters of Snake River about eight miles below American Falls dam. Many volunteers have and are still aiding in the search for the missing victims and victim. Mr. Miya was born in Japan about 50 years ago. He has operated op-erated a boarding house in Copperfield Cop-perfield for many years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Joe C. Miya of Copperfield; a son, Russell Miya. of Bingham, and two daughters, Amy Miya, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mary Miya, Copperfield. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Thursday, June 21,.- at Bingham. |
