Show New Castle By NORMA CHRISTENSEN Record Correspondent The Escalante Valley Elementary School held their annual Halloween party Friday night, complete with spooks and goblins, a costume contest, spook alley, games, and food for all. The party was under the direction of the Parent-Teacher Parent-Teacher club. Mr. and Mrs. Keenan Hart and small daughter of Salt Lake City visited last week at the home of . their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart. Reed and Suzanne Bown, formerly of Oakland, Calif., have purchased the mobile home and surrounding acres that were owned by T.A. Petrie, and are going to make their home here. We extend a warm welcome to the Bown family. ' ' ""We" extend J sincere condolences to Belva Gardner and her family, and the Burl Hunting family on the passing of their father, Wayne Hunting of St. George. Funeral services were held Saturday in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Christensen and family, and Mrs. Katherine Christensen traveled to St. George to join Deb's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Chamberlain in the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. an-niversary. Bishop and Mrs. Norma nd Laub traveled to Salt Lake City last week. They visited their son Larry, who is a student in Orem at the Utah Technical School, studying diesel mechanics. They also visited at the home of their daughter, Lynette Judd, in Salt Lake City. Julie Fuller accompanied the Laub's up north to purchase some of her wedding materials. George Beacham has returned home from a month's stay in Anchorage, An-chorage, Alaska, doing some building for his brother, Dr. Sherman Beacham. Carina's mother, Mrs. Arthella Taylor of Fillmore, has been visiting at the Beacham home this week. Joel Beacham traveled to Los Angeles, Calif., last week to visit some friends there. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Flynn of Tampa, Texas, visited this week at the home of Mrs. Mary Tullis. They became friends of Mary while she was on her mssion to Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Merkle and daughter, Raina, visited last week in San Francisco, Calif., on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mrs. Helen Banks and two children of Sandy, has been visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsyth. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Bracken returned home last week from Denver, Colo., where they visited at the home of their son, Errol Bracken. Steve and Rosaland Roth and children of Cedar City visited over the weekend at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Clark. |
