Show Committee seeks further negotiations before signing CEDAR CITY - The Cedar City Industrial Park Committee Monday reviewed the contract with Price Industries Corporation, the private developer selected for the city industrial park, and are seeking further negotiations before the contract is signed. Several parts of the contract aren't clear to the Committee. For example the exact size of land parcel to be negotiated with the developer is not yet determined. The City has 178 acres of land to work with located by the airport. One Committee suggestion is to develop the land in three phases, with 40 acres in each phase. After Price Industries In-dustries develops a certain portion of one phase, the possibilities of moving into another parcel of land would be considered. In addition to land questions in the contract, the exact obligations of Cedar City were unclear. According to City Manager Joe Melling, the question of how far Cedar would bring facilities like sewage, water and curb and gutter into the park is still a big concern. Committee chairman Paul Whetman said, "We need to sit down and talk with Peter Cook to iron out these points." Further negotiations with Price Industries on the contract disputes should take place this Friday or next Monday accordint to Melling. |
