Show . SUSC sponsors injury clinic Athletic training and the care of athletic injuries in-juries will be the subject of a five-day workshop Aug. 4-8 at Southern Utah State College. Registration for the workshop will be at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4 in room 201 of the SUSC Physical Education Building, according to Ben Davidson, SUSC athletic trainer and workshop director. "The program is designed to be of special value to the high school coach or trainer," Davidson said. "Subjects covered will include caring for the initial injury, in-jury, taping, equipment fitting and rehabilitation of common athletic injuries." in-juries." Dale Mildenberger, athletic trainer at Utah State University, will assist Davidson in instructing in-structing the week-long course. Graduate level credit (three credits) or credit toward teacher recer-tification recer-tification will be awarded upon completion of the workshop. The course will cost $65 if taken for credit or $5 if taken on a non-credit non-credit basis. A lab fee of $20 will be charged all participants. Rooms in Juniper Hall on campus have been reserved for those workshop students who wish them. Arrangements for housing can be made at registration for the workshop, according to Davidson. "Workshop sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day. We will be covering a whole range of common athletic injuries and how to treat them," Davidson says. "It should be of real value to those involved in physical education or competitive athletic programs." |
