Show 1 Accident Injures Three Three people were injured late Saturday night when the car in which they were riding went out of control and struck the Coal Creek bridge at Center Street in Cedar City. Investigating officer David Christopher reported that the accident occurred when the Dodge Corronet left Cedar Canyon at speeds estimated to be in excess of 80 miles an hour and struck the bridge abuttment. The vehicle then crossed the roadway, collided with a large traffic sign and came to rest in the eastbound lane. Officer Christopher came upon the accident scene shortly before 11 :30 p.m. and requested an ambulance for the injured. Treated at Valley View Medical Center for lacer-tions lacer-tions and later released were Kenda Staple, 18, and Shane Prestwich, 16. Another passenger in thecar, Locke Prestwich, 16 was admitted to the hospital with chest tissue injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Lance Prestwich, 19, apparently ap-parently was. not injured in the accident and according to the police report was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was later released from custody on $300 bond. All occupants of the vehicle are residents of Cedar City. The vehicle was listed as a total loss. |
