Team 3 made up of graduates gradu-ates of 1975-76, narrowly defeated Team 1, then ran away from Team 2 in the MHS Alumni Tourney. They are Kevin Barnes, Brian Hanley, Russell Holm, Tom Jones, Alan Mayer, Jim Raines, Garland Tait and Russell Smith. Milford's team of teams, the 1975 Tigers who went all the way to the Championship, Cham-pionship, only to be defeated defeat-ed by the Kanab Cowboys, and the 1977 Tigers who brought Milford it's only class 1-A state championship, champion-ship, battled for the number one spot in the AlumniTour-ney AlumniTour-ney last Saturday. It was almost a repeat of last year's matchup,when the '77 team won. But the old timers of 1975 were determined deter-mined this year and pulled . away in the second quarter for a 78-64 win. The tourney was a benefit bene-fit for the Milford Auditorium Auditori-um Project, which will renovate reno-vate the MHS Auditorium. Gross receipts for the two day tourney were $1608.08 which included ticket sales and $435 in donations. The project, which includes lights, carpeting, seating and new drapes to refurbish the Auditorium, now has over . $9,000 in the fund, with a goal of $15,000. Taking the State class 1-A championship champ-ionship in 1977, they placed 2nd in 1975 and 1979, 3rd in 1976, 4th in 1974 won the consolation championship in 1978 and were 8th in 1973. Coach Nielson, who led the team from 1973 to the championship cham-pionship in 1977 was in the stands to renew oldacquain-tences. oldacquain-tences. Team 3, the tourney win -ner made up of Coach Kevin Kev-in Barnes, Brian Hanley, Russell Holm, Tom Jones, Alan Mayer, Jim Raines, Garland Tait, all 1975 grads, and Russell Smith, 1976, defeated de-feated grads of 1979-80 in the first game, 70-68 on a final second shot by Barnes. They came back the second night to defeat grads of 77-78, 77-78, who won the state cham -pionship and last year's alumni tourney. Team 4, grads of 1970-71, 72 and 73 found the going rough against the youngsters, young-sters, losing, 74-59, to Team 2 and 74-70 against Team 1. However Ken Holm, 1970 grad showed he still hadn't lost his touch by scoring 29 points Friday, and 38 on Saturday to lead the tourney scoring wih 67 points.
