Willard G.-Smith, of the firm, Tebbs, Smith & Associates, As-sociates, CPA, met with the board and reviewed the audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1979. He also reviewed the audits of the funds of BHS and MHS for the Board. The board accepted the' audit reports and appointed appoint-ed the firm auditors for the coming year. Linda Robinson, Paul K. Nielsen and Steve Hardman met with the board as mem -bers of a committee to help get a vocational building at BHS. They offered their seAices to the board in aiding the funding of the building. The motion was approved that the committee investigate investi-gate funding possibilities for a new vocational building in addition, to those being pursued pur-sued by the Superintendent. Mr. Hardman met with the board as vocational teacher at BHS. He reported report-ed that the program is being changed to meet the changing chang-ing needs. He was asked about the drug problem and said there is some. Public Pub-lic apathy seems to be the biggest hinderance in con-troling con-troling and eliminating the problems. The school will continue to be as severe as the law will allow. Gordon Johnson, music teacher at BHS is impressed with the type of students. The jazz band Is looking good. The junior band is doing well, and he is pleased with the 30 students In the Sr. Choir. He asked authorization to take the choral group toDls-neyland toDls-neyland in the spring. It was granted. Bonnie Hardy and Janice Mayer met with the board regarding playground equip- ment forMilford Elementary School. They have raised about $800 and will donate labor for installation for equipment. Dan Joseph met with the board and reviewed field trips for the year for each grade In his school. Drew Larsen requested a room for the Civil Prepard-ness Prepard-ness Council. He was told the old boiler room might, fixed up to meet their needs. Rich Bensemon , Principal of Milford Elementary met and reported that the new teachers are doing a satisfactory satis-factory job. A field trip to the American Ameri-can Fork TrainingSchool and State Prison, and one to the Model United Nations was approved for the American Problems Class. A request for Alfred Marshall Mar-shall to attend the National Principals Convention in Miami, Mi-ami, in February, was approved. ap-proved. After discussion it was approved that a 1980 Mallbu be purchased from Bradshaw Chevrolet for a driver education edu-cation vehicle. |
