Defense again took over until with 52 seconds left in the game, Troy Hardy blocked a Ram punt and little lit-tle Troy Pearson picked up the ball and scampered in to the end zone to pull the Tigers within six, at 19-12. The Rams got off four plays, before the gun. It was a moral victory for the Tigers, who will meet Beaver, September 21, at Beaver. Milford wasn't supposed to have a football team this year. Even a couple of weeks before the season opened It was doubtful. With only three seniors, five juniors jun-iors and a new coach it seemed almost impossible. But somebody forgot to tell the Tigers. With those eight upperclassmen leading the way and thirteen gutsy soph-mores soph-mores and five little freshmen, fresh-men, guided by Bill Bailey and Dale Jensen, the Tigers fielded a respectable team that battled the Parowan Rams to a 19-12 finish. It may not have been a win, but it was a big boost to Tiger fans, and should have been satisfying to the Tigers. Ti-gers. They may not win many this year, but their opponents will know thay've been in a football game. The Rams scored first on a 42 yard pass play with Danny Robinson taking the pitch from quarterback Hulet, Hu-let, with 3:40 left on the clock in the first quarter. The PAT was good and Parowan Paro-wan led 7-0. Tough defense was the name of the game the rest of the half and the ball switched back and forth with no score. The Tigers started moving but on second down, K.C. Flak Intercepted a pass and returned to the Tiger 18. Mike Thornton rushed for one, and Roger Bently rushed rush-ed for four before Thornton Thorn-ton pushed the last 13 yards for the Rams second TD with 6:51 left in the third period. The kick was no good and the score was 13-0. The Tigers took the kick and picked up three first downs before a LaneyJohn-son LaneyJohn-son fumble was picked up by Parowan.
