Show EIS on IPP Announced The Department of Interior In-terior has released its draft version of the long awaited Environemental Impact Statement on the proposed Intermountain Power Project. The three volume statement con- eludes that the proposed 3,000 megawatt coal fired electric generating plant at Lynndyl, Utah could meet all federal and state air quality standards, and that emissions from the plant would not adversely affect areas near the facility. In releasing the draft, Secretary Secre-tary of Interior Andrus said he is "directing all Dept. of Interior agencies to give top priority to making decisions de-cisions about the project" because of its importance in saving oil and gas. |
