Terry Madsen 387-2881 Congratulations to a very proud Iola Carter, who received a birthday letter .from the Babe Ruth Baseball Base-ball Athletes of the Year Club. They notified her that her grandson, Michael Wheeler, at age 16, has been elected the Athlete of the Year. His name will be placed in the Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown, New York. He is the son of Myrna Loy and Earl Wheeler of Ogden. If you noticed a big, beautiful trailer parked by Alvin and Audry Skillicorn's house, it belongs to their daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Elmer Barnes, of Salt Lake, , who spent the weekend visiting. Their children, Johnny, Ronnie, and twins, Jimmy and Jerry, also came. The potato harvest at the Clinton Bowler farm in Enterprise received a boost with the help of James Hardy, who has been there almost three weeks. Clinton is Rene Hardy's brother. A genuine Milford welcome wel-come to Miss Lynea Heaton, who is now living with the Jay Hiatt family. She comes from Fredonia, Arizona, and is attending MHS as a Junior. The Hiatt's daugh ter, Patti, was down for the weekend from Provo, where she is in her senior year at BYU. Surprise. ..the Madsens didn't go anywhere last weekend. Olive Root had a happy reunion with her sister, Ruth Sanford, of Albany, Georgia, and another sister, Barbara Whitbeck, of Salt Lake, and their brother, Dick Johnson. They all toured their former home town, Elsinore, then Richfield, Fish Lake, Park City, and down through the beautiful colored leaves of Emigration Canyon. The three sisters drove up to Preston, Idaho, to visit friends. Mitch and Beth Fisher headed north on UEA weekend week-end and while Mitch attended meetings, Beth went to the genealogy library in Salt Lake. . They visited Rob and Rhonda Fisher in Provo, and Shelley Fisher, who is attending nursing school at Weber College in Ogden. They also visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gael Elmer and their daughter, Lisa. Gael andDoris are at present on a three week trip to Europe, and sent Fishers a postcard from London. They will return about October 20. Out of town guests attending at-tending the graveside services ser-vices for littleSteven Fisher were: Mr. and Mrs. Grant Seely and daughters, Sherrie and Brenda, of Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Seely, of Salt Lake City; Mr. andMrs. Michael Fisher, and children, child-ren, of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Judy, of Amnion, Idaho; Mr. andMrs. Rob Fisher, and sons of Provo; Bishop andMrs. Berl Gordon, of Caliente, Nevada; and friends of Diane Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Boschetti and two children, of Oren; Mrs. Jessie Brandenburg, Brand-enburg, and "Grandma" Gibbons, of Provo; LuAnn Fullmer, and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Fisher. Kevin Easton and his fiancee, Kathy Anderson, of Salt Lake, spent the weekend week-end in Milford. Kevin had Guard duty, and Kathy came down to meet the family. The PTA meetingheldlast Thursday was very worthwhile worth-while for those who made the effort to attend. I came away feeling like the principals of both schools are competent and as concerned con-cerned as we parents are that our children get the best education possible. Superintendent Super-intendent Haslem was also in the audience. A lot of misunderstandings mis-understandings get straightened out at these meetings, as well as positive posi-tive action taking place, so won't you come next time? The Horn Silver Camp of the D.U.P. met at the home of Pearl Baudino on October Octo-ber 11th. Rowena Winn gave the lesson on "Native Pioneers." They welcomed their new member, Billie Osborne into the camp and had delicious cream cake for refreshments. Those present pre-sent included: Vera Bond, Iona Baxter, Sharon Cook, Verna Tomsik, Vvs Baxter, Rowena Winn, and Pearl Baudino. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Baudino went to Cedar City on the 9th and 14th of October to help celebrate their granddaughter, grand-daughter, Debra, and grandson, grand-son, Curtis Nelson's birthdays. birth-days. While there, they were treated to a fine dinner by daughter, Karen, and husband, to celebrate the Baudino's 49th wedding anniversary. an-niversary. Bobbie and Tom James and Billie Osborne were guests at Patsy and Nate Smith's at Layton. They also visited with Sandra and Dannie James and family, of Kays ville, and Jimmie and Colleen James and family, of Fruit Heights. They also attended the wedding wed-ding and reception of Tambi James and Tony Prodzinski. Mike Jones, his wife, Susann, and son, Ryan, drove Billie to Springville to visit Barbara and Frank Jones. Bobbie and Tom called for her the next day to bring her to Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Tom James and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Osborne crove to Cedar to see a brother, Roy Stewart, of Pioche, in the Valley View Hospital. Roy was then transferred to the LDS Hospital Hos-pital in Salt Lake. Over night visitors at the Glenn Osborne home were Viola and Waldo Yardley, of Beaver, and Ida Stewart and her daughter, Holly Mc-Croskey, Mc-Croskey, of Eagle Valley, Nevada. They were here for the reception of Tambi and Tony at the home of Mel and Shiela Prodzinski. Visitors at Bobbie and Tom James home were Jimmie and Colleen James, and family, of Fruit Heights, and Tommy James of Las Vegas. Billie and Glenn met Barbara Bar-bara and Frank Jones, and Frank's mother, Jean Jones, of Parowan, at Gerald and Jeanette Stoker's home in Cedar. A lovely lunch was served by the Stokers. Frank and Barbara stayed over night with the Osbornes in Milford, on their way to Springville. |
