These pictures show just part of the damage to gated pipe at Sullivan Farms. Someone turned their pickup around and ran over the pipe in the big picture, crushing it. The big hole (inset) shows a shotgun blast at very close range into a pile of pipe. The second inset shows damage from a more sporting distance. Sullivan Farms also have several other sections of pipe with .22 caliber holes. At about $90.00 per section, it's no wonder that Mr. Sullivan is considering closing his land to all hunters. Other farmers also receive similar damage, equipment shot up, fences torn down, and stock shot. Most recognize that only a few cause all the damage, but since those few are difficult to catch, the only alternative is to keep everybody off their land. Real sportsmen can help by reporting anyone causing damage. In that fashion, they can help to keep more land open to hunting for the good sportsmen. With cooperation between sportsman and farmer, the low-downs low-downs who do the above damage, will be caught and puiished. |
