Show feyMy pups en Ambulance week is crammed so full of goodies that it spilled over, and will have to be kicked off on Saturday, Sat-urday, July 30th. The week of August 1 -6 has been set aside in Western Beaver County as Ambulance Week, in a last-ditch drive to raise funds for a new modular am -bulance. All 'ambulance week' proceeds go to purchase the new ambulance. The teenagers will kick off the week withTEENDAY, Saturday, July 30th. There will be games of skill at the city park starting at 10:00 a.m. with every youth organization organ-ization in Milford andMin-ersville andMin-ersville doing something. Already Al-ready scheduled are archery, darts, a dunking machine, and food concessions. There will be lots more. That night the Milford City Youth Com mittee will sponsor a dance with live music by Justice at the Milford Elementary School from 9:30-12:00 p.m. Monday, July 1 is a free day, but on Tuesday, July 2nd, the EMT's will hold court at the senior citizen hall. They'll check your blood pressure and give demonstrations demon-strations on lifesaving techniques. tech-niques. They remind you that trained medical personnel are seldom the first at the scene of an accident. The little you know may save a life. The Grey Ladies and Am -erican Red Cross will serve pie and ice cream. Wednesday, August 3rd, is memorial day, and former residents are asked to make contributions in memory of friends and loved ones. Kids Day on August 4th will feature a baby contest. Ambulance Annie andAmbu-lance andAmbu-lance Andy will be selected from the younger set up to four years of age. Verda Tait is Milford Chairman and Chellie Craw is chairman chair-man in Minersville. If you don't receive an application and have a baby to enter, pick one up from one of the chairmen, or Jeff Merc. Fill out the application and send with picture (of the baby) by Saturday, July 30th, to either chairman. There will also be booths, games and concessions at the park, beginning at 10:00 a jn. Friday, August 5th, will be Merchants Day, with each merchant in Milford and Minersville having specials in their store. That evening the Milford Ladies Softball Team will play the Haymakers, Hay-makers, men's team, at the high school field starting at 7:00 p.m., followed by a dance in the fairgrounds pavilion. pa-vilion. Price is a buck for the ballgame and $2.00 for the dance. Saturday is 'ambulance day' and it will get underway at 4:00 p.m. at the elementary elemen-tary school with a slave auction. auc-tion. Persons will put up their services for sale to the highest bidder. From 5-7 p.m. there will be a community commu-nity dinner and every family is asked to contribute food. Price is $2.50 a plate or $10.00 for a family. Following the dinner at 8:00 p.m. there will be a variety show. |
