Non -dummies, Ron and Gayle GaleandDen-nis GaleandDen-nis Cox, gave an outstanding demonstration of the Heimlich Heim-lich Maneuver, mouth-torn outh resuscitation, and C.P.R. techniques, using mannequins. A CP J?., film was shown, and an EMT disaster dis-aster kit was displayed. Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Chappell, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Davis, Mr. and Mrs. HerbHeer,Mr.and Mrs. Blake Madsen, andMr. and Mrs.WayneStewart. Our local EMT's are available to give demonstrations upon request. Belated congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hannah and their new baby, David Wayne, who joined An -gelique and E. W. at home recently. Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Staley of Kanarraville, and grandfather, grand-father, Earl Hannah, of Santa Paula, Calif., have been up to see the new arrival. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Roberts Rob-erts enjoyed a visit from son, Dean, and his family from Layton on Mothers Day weekend. Son, Wayne, and Kathy Roberts also received a visit. Ken and Sonia Munk were delightfully surprised by an impulse visit from their close friends, Don and Christie Chris-tie Kabeary, of San Pablo, California. The Kabeary's are still planning to visit in June, but decided to surprise sur-prise the Munks last weekend. week-end. Ken and Sonia are former form-er residents of San Pablo. Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo provided great entertainment en-tertainment for the Dennis Hardy family. They took a weeks vacation to California, Califor-nia, staying with Bonnie's brother, Ray Perkins, and , his wife, Eavon. Kathy and Willie Acklin and family visited inModena with friends over the weekend. week-end. The Sam Florence family spent the weekend in Ogden visiting Maria's mother, Mrs. Pieter Van Hooft, and nephew, Ron Overdiek,. and his family (including a new baby). They then went to Morgan to Sam's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Florence, and haddinnerSaturdaynight in Wanship. Milford's second ward Relief Re-lief Society work day meeting meet-ing was held last Tuesday. An informative health lesson by Doragene Bailey was pre -sented on the care and prevention pre-vention of burns. Mini-courses Mini-courses were begun In cake -decoration, taught by Florence Flor-ence Myers, Tole -painting, taught by Janet Walker, and sewing techniques by Florence Flor-ence Hiatt. A quilt was also worked on and a luncheon was served at noon. Relief Re-lief Society is held Wednesday Wednes-day mornings at 10 a.m. and all ladies are invited to attend. at-tend. Mr. andMrs. Earl Thompson Thomp-son traveled to Orem, May 14th, for a wedding breakfast break-fast at 11 a.m at the Rome-a-rama for great-granddaughter, Jan, who married Michel King of Price. Jan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christensen of Billings, Montana. The Thompsons also attended the reception that evening in Price and returned home Sunday. A Red Cross Instructor's Course was taught last week by Wilson (Pat) Kaye, an American Red Cross Instructor In-structor Trainer from Salt Lake. Ray Whiting, Dennis Den-nis Cox and Richard Hannah Han-nah all got their Instructor's Instruc-tor's Certification to teach both standard and advanced First Aid. Sally Rose and Kathy Lyon sat in and will earn their certification later. Gayle Gale also attended, but is already certified. Jeanette Kohler's son, Bishop and Mrs. Ned Kohler of Poway, California, came up Thursday and left their children, Jill, Marie and Kevin, over the weekend while they went up to Park City on business. Needless to say, Grandma Kohler enjoyed en-joyed tending. Letha Smyth just returned from Sacramento aftervisit-ing aftervisit-ing son, Neil , and family for a month. On her way home, she stopped in Las Vegas to see her sister, Mary Crookston, who came back for a visit. . Don't challenge Ron and Gayle Gale to a shoot -out, because youll probably lose. At the Utah Police Officer's Pistol Shoot in Brigham City, Gayle took first place in the Women's Masters competition, competi-tion, and Ron placed second In the Men's Masters division. divi-sion. In the Free-for-all Competition, Gayle won a new toaster and Ron won a fishing fish-ing pole and volleyball set. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Thompson, Thomp-son, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wiseman, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Roberts took two boats to Lake Powell and enjoyed en-joyed the fishing until the wind drove them back. This past week the Thompsons went to Otter Creek with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boyter and family. They met son, Robert, Rob-ert, and granddaughter, Amy, (who caught three big ones!) of Glenwood. Mothers Day was no holiday holi-day for Tom Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Walker, who re -broke his leg when he slipped on a wet floor at the Town and Country Coun-try Restaurant. He recently recent-ly had a cast removed from a former break, and must spend a few more days in the St. George hospital before returning to Cedar. Janet Walker is in Cedar helping T om 's f am ily m o ve into the ir new home. Mrs. LaVerna Thompson's daughter, Thelma Jeppson, of American Fork, spent several sev-eral days inMilford, and LaVerna La-Verna also received phone calls from all her children and grandchildren on Mothers Moth-ers Day. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Banks spent the weekend in Salt Lake with son, Gary, andhis wife, Diane, and their grandchildren, grand-children, Justin and Bryan. Alan and Shaunna Mayer went fishingSaturdayupnear Puffer's Lake and had a fun time. Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Nichols received visits from the following: fol-lowing: Max and Teri and f am ily of Bountiful; Shiri and Diane and family of Cedar; Sally and Rodney of Provo; and daughter, Sharon, and granddaughter, Heather, of Salt Lake. Their son, Blaine, a nd Kathryn Nichols of Lake -wood, Texas, had a baby girl April 21st, who joined two sisters and three brothers al home. The Nichols also visited Mr. and Mrs. Stand-ley Stand-ley Pickett of Gunnison, Saturday. Sat-urday. If Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hol-lis Hol-lis seem to be on Cloud Nine, it's because they attended attend-ed grandson, Rodney Bock -woldt's wedding in Clearfield, Clear-field, May 7th, to Debbie Welk of Sunset. Then while they were there, Rodney was drafted by the NJ.L. to play for the L.A. Rams on the defensive de-fensive line. They will go to Ogden this week for the Honor Assembly at Weber State. Mrs. Jim Smithson spent last week at the bedside of her youngest sister, Mary Lee Wood, who is very ill in the IDS Hospital. |
