Show Freshmen burn up Jr. Olympics Seven Freshmen boys from MHS entered the Jr. Olympics at SUSC on May 12th and made a good showing, show-ing, with all seven qualifying for the regional meet, according ac-cording to Kathleen Jones. Ken Jones sped to firsts in the 100-yard dash In 10.7 seconds, and then repeated in the 220 -yard dasn at 24.9 seconds. He also took second in the high jump and long jump. Kurt Sherwood placed second sec-ond in the 880, followed by Greg Thomas for third. Dennis Den-nis Myers captured a second in the 440 and fourth in the 220. Dennis and Greg teamed with Mike Lounsbury . and Todd Atkin for second place in the 440 yard relay. Todd also had a fourth in the long jump and Steve Moody, a fourth in the high jump. Mrsi Jones reports another an-other meet will be held at SUSC in June for all boys and girls 18 years and younger. |
