Show I f:; fUC - V . i I v'-e. ;.' - v8"" - . r .. - " II -few" The Relief Society organization of the LDS Church encourages its members to learn various homemaking skills, including the art of quilting. Several members of the Milford Second Ward Relief Society have been holding a "quilting bee" at the home of Vilate Lang to complete their entry for the state contest. The design was sketched by Marge Harton. Adriene Roberts, counselor in the Relief Re-lief Society presidency, completed the applique work, assisted by Virge Goodwin. Those helping with the quilting quilt-ing were: Vilate Lang, Maudel Crane, Doragene Bailey, Emma Griffiths, Lena Roberts, Irene Stewart, Mary Ann Bailey, Helen Gillins, Bea Oxley and Waima Holm. EICENTENNIAL QUILT; The old -fashioned "Quilting Bee" has come into the spotlight with the advent of the Bicentennial. Quilt contests have been held throughout the nation the last few months, reviving an interest in this nearly forgotten art. Utah will have a Bicentennial Quilt Contest sponsored spon-sored by the College of Family Life of the Utah State University at Logan. Regional judging will be held in Cedar City, May 5th with a public display in the Family Living Center at SUSC from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Selections Selec-tions from regional competition will go to the final state competition which will be held at USU, June 15th, where winners will be announced that day. |
